This book is all about self-empowerment, self-love, and self-worth. The messages in these works are just as strong as her title. This book is an experience like I’ve never felt before, especially from reading poems. She’s a book-loving girl, and I so easily slipped into her shoes while reading her words. Part of what struck me was that she is so much like me, like us. Her metaphors and comparisons tugged at my heartstrings. It’s truly remarkable how she can get so much emotion across through so few words. But this collection reads like a story, and it is truly something special.Īmanda Lovelace’s writing has a dark fairytale-like quality to it. I was nervous going into reading this because, in all honesty, I’m not a huge fan of poetry. And I plan to read it over and over again.

Everything about it is just so beautiful and full of raw heartfelt emotion. I don’t have one critical thing to say about this incredibly empowering book of poetry. I really don’t think it’d be right to actually call what I’m writing a review.

This moving book explores love, loss, grief, healing, empowerment, and inspiration. The first three sections piece together the life of the author while the final section serves as a note to the reader.
